East Ladies Veterans Trials and Training:  Players are wanted for the Over 40 and over 45 age groups. Interested, then come along to the following sessions kindly hosted this year by Bishops Stortford Hockey club Dates: 8th & 15th June Times: 11am - 3pm Venue: Hockerill Anglo-European College, Dunmow Road, Bishops Stortford, CM23 5HX -for directions see here
Please note the College has boarders on site at weekends so park in the car park on Dunmow Road and use the signposted public footpath for access to the pitch - please do not walk through College grounds. Two teams will be selected to travel to Cannock for the national inter region veterans tournaments. These are being held on Saturday  21st and Sunday 22nd June. If you need further details please call Peter Rushmere our coach on  07759473786 or e-mail peterushmere@hotmail.com  to say you will be attending.

Club changes: please note that Norwich Union are leaving Pinebanks and will play under the name of Norwich Dragons from this coming season;  Marconi HC has merged into Old De Ferrians HC; and St Albans Exiles have become part of St Albans HC and though continuing to play under the Exiles name will adopt St Albans colours.

The AGM of the East Region Hockey Association: will be held on Thursday 3rd July 2008 at 7.30 p.m at the Quy Mill Hotel, Cambridge.  The Agenda is now available via the AGM link on Erha Page on this website.

Trials for East Men's Veterans Teams: the East teams to compete in the over 60 and 65 regional tournaments to be held at Cannock on May 17-18 will be selected shortly.  The trials will be held at Chelmsford HC on Friday 11 April for for over 60's and Friday 18 April for over 65's, both starting at 7 pm. Players wishing to join the trials should first contact one of the organisers: David Wright on 01525 220474, Gerald Wilkinson on 01245 284111 or David Gill on 07801 050249.
The East have won the regional tournament four times out of the five years of the competition, and East currently have 10 players in the England national teams at 60 or 65, one being the Captain. The England over 60's are the current European Champions and the 65's are the current World and European Champions.
